Highlights from India

Join Denise Weeks for an inspiring workshop about her travel to India

Saturday April 21 / 2:00 – 4:30 pm

Back from her second trip to Pune, India, Denise will share stories and teachings from her month at the Iyengar Yoga Institute. Denise will discuss some of the differences in teaching methods between the “source” and our small corner of the country, but she’ll also talk about the similarities that connect us to Pune and Iyengar Yoga practitioners all around the world. This is a special year in Iyengar Yoga, as 2018 marks Guruji’s Centenary Year. This workshop will give participants a taste of the philosophy, asana, and pranayama that the descendants of B.K.S. Iyengar are teaching today.

Denise Weeks is a certified Iyengar Yoga instructor, has studied yoga for 18 years and has taught at Yoga Northwest for 13 years. She teaches 5 different levels, from Gentle to Dynamic II.

“I am always humbled by my students’ willingness to open themselves up to this path despite their challenges, and I love Iyengar Yoga all the more for its ability to meet individuals where they are.”

PREREQUISITES: For those who can’t sit on the floor, chairs will be available. We will do asana and pranayama that require Gentle II proficiency and above.
