Bhutan Itinerary

 Sat November 3- Day 1

Arrive at Paro and drive to Thimphu (1.5 hours). Stay at Namgay Heritage Hotel. Visit the National Folk Heritage Museum and the National Textile Museum, or explore the Capital on your own. Afternoon Yoga and end the day with an evening welcome dinner.

Sun November 4- Day 2

Morning yoga by the biggest Buddha in the world if the weather permits. Hike to Cheri Monastery (1620) and bike along the Wang Chuu River. Afternoon yoga.

Mon November 5- Day 3

Morning yoga. Drive to Punakha (~2 hours). Stop at Dochula Pass, with stunning views of the Himalayas (if weather permits). Stay at Hotel Zhingkham. Bike to Divine Madman Temple (Chimi Lhakhang, 1499).

Tues November 6- Day 4

Morning yoga overlooking the valley. Bike up, along Pochu River. River rafting down the Pochu River and visit the Phunakha Dzong (1632). Afternoon yoga.

Wed November 7- Day 5

No yoga this day. Drive to Ha-Valley (~4 hours). Stop halfway at the Douchala Pass and hike to Lungchuzekha Monastery, with stunning views of the Himalayan Mountains (depending on weather). Optional bike ride from the Chelela Pass down into Ha-Valley. Stay at a heritage farm house, Soednam Zingkha with afternoon traditional Bhutanese hot stone baths.

Thurs November 8- Day 6

Bike in the peaceful Ha-Valley, try archery, the Bhutanese national sport.  Return to Paro and stay at 4 star Zhiwaling Hotel. Restorative afternoon yoga.

Fri November 9-Day 7

Morning yoga. Visit Paro National museum. Explore the streets of Paro, with lots of little shops full of traditional arts and Bhutanese handicrafts. Afternoon yoga.

Sat November 10-Day 8

Morning yoga. Hike to Tiger’s Nest Taktsang, Lhakhang; the most popular monastery in Bhutan (~ 5 hours and 10,000 feet). Afternoon yoga.

Sun November 11-Day 9

Fly home or travel onward to your next adventures.
