Our instructors are highly trained and certified and are committed to excellence making Yoga accessible to each individual body. In Iyengar Yoga our instructors participate in ongoing professional education, bringing in-depth instruction to their students with continual fresh insights and creativity.

    Ingela Abbott

Ingela Abbott, the Director and Founder of Yoga Northwest, is a certified Senior Iyengar Yoga Instructor, one of only two in the whole Northwest. She has studied Iyengar yoga for 36 years and taught for 31 years. Ingela has studied personally with world renowned yoga master B.K.S. Iyengar numerous times in India since 1976. Ingela teaches with clarity, enthusiasm and compassion and loves to help others help themselves towards vibrant health, inner peace and mindful living.

  Katie Davidson

Katie Davidson has been a student of Yoga since 1994 and has completed a teacher training with Ingela Abbott. She is a practicing massage therapist and doula and weaves her knowledge of anatomy and passion for healing into her teaching. Katie delights in Yoga as a practice of coming home to the body.

  Rainy Fackler Adams

Rainy Fackler Adams is a certified yoga instructor, has been practicing yoga since 1977 and teaching since 1994. She completed a teacher training program at the Santa Barbara Yoga Center, a year at the Iyengar Yoga Institute in L. A. and has apprenticed with Ingela Abbott. Rainy is a massage therapist and her caring and nurturing qualities shine through in her teaching in a fun-loving way.

  William Prelle

William Prelle is a certified Iyengar Yoga Instructor. He has studied Iyengar Yoga since 1988 and has been teaching since 1994. He apprenticed with Ingela Abbott and has taken several teacher training programs. William has worked as a massage therapist for 27 years. He teaches with care and enthusiasm and enjoys sharing the discovery of vitality and freedom of movement.

  Lauron Ray

Lauron Ray is a certified Iyengar Yoga Instructor. He started Yoga in 1992 and began teaching in 1998. He has completed teacher training and apprenticeships with Ingela Abbott. He graduated from WWU in 2002 with a degree in Environmental Studies. Lauron enjoys sharing the balance and joy of Yoga and seeing people awaken to their full potential.

Vicki Roy   Vicki Roy

Vicki Roy is a certified yoga instructor and a student of yoga since 1982. She apprenticed with Ingela Abbott, started teaching in 1987 and has completed an intensive course at B.K.S. Iyengar Yoga Institute in Pune, India, as well as a teacher-training course at Seattle School of Yoga. Vicki’s teaching is clear and concise, and she patiently encourages students to explore their limits and learn about themselves.

  Denise Weeks

Denise Weeks is a certified Iyengar Yoga Instructor and has studied Iyengar Yoga since 2000. She completed a teacher training course with Ingela Abbott and has taken classes and workshops with many Senior Iyengar instructors. She appreciates the wisdom of all the teachers who have helped her develop a rich, daily practice. In her teaching, Denise hopes others will discover both the expected and unexpected gifts yoga can bring.

  Meg Sutton

Meg Sutton is a certified Iyengar Yoga Instructor, has been practicing Yoga since 2000 and has completed a teacher training with Ingela Abbott. Meg's previous training as a dancer continues to bring inspiration and creativity to her yoga practice and teaching. Meg's WWU degree combines Yoga with the science of human anatomy and physiology. Meg loves to help her students discover the joy of movement, stillness and consciousness.

  Charlotte Sather

Charlotte has studied Iyengar Yoga since 1995 and began teaching in 2006. She has completed teacher trainings with Felicity Green and Judith Lasater, and currently apprentices with Ingela Abbott. In 1998 she went to India to study Yoga. Charlotte is a graduate from WWU with a Vocal Performance degree. Her compassionate, supportive teaching focuses on Yoga as a mode of self-exploration and stress relief.
